Protesters close Commissioner Street in Joburg CBD
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A group of protestor shut down Commissioner Street in the Johannesburg CBD on Monday afternoon.

The Jacob Zuma Foundation says it does not agree with the High Court in Johannesburg that an immediate go-ahead to the private prosecution of Cyril Ramaphosa would have caused irreparable harm to the president.
The protest resulted in police firing rubber bullets in an attempt to disperse the angry group.
Joburg metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla says protesters, who are foreign nationals residing in the CBD, are apparently protesting the death of one of their compatriots.
"The cause of death is currently unknown by the JMPD, and the matter is being investigated by SAPS.

“The situation is currently volatile as we have received reports that police vehicles were being stoned by the protesters.
"JMPD and SAPS officers are at on scene and motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid Commissioner Street, between Nugget and Mooi streets in the JHB CBD, and to use alternative routes.”
