Protesters barricade N2 near Jozini
Updated | By Portia Cele and Natarah Nadesen
The northern KwaZulu-Natal town of Jozini is in the grip of a protest.
According to resident, Xavier Maxito the unrest began early this morning, with locals demanding water.
He says there's no violence but community members have scattered rocks and boulders on some routes.
"You can't travel to Jozini. No one can travel to Jozini currently. The problem is about the community of this area from eMachibini and Emphoweni - they are demanding water. In that area there is a lot of stones," Maxito said.
Meanwhile vehicles trying to get onto the off-ramp from the N2 are being turned away. Truck driver, Kuben Pillay from Durban explains.

"We are on the main road to Jozini - they have full boulders on the road and are blocking both the two lanes. We are standing by to hear whether we can go or not. We are not too sure how long it's going to take, everything is closed off," he said.
