Protest erupts at Kennedy Road informal settlement
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
There's protest action currently taking place at Durban's Kennedy Road informal settlement.
About 50 people are said to have burned a municipal car earlier in the area.
The police's Thulani Zwane explains the situation.
"They already burnt one vehicle belonging to the municipality and other vehicles were also stoned. At this stage no arrests have been made. The police are still in the area, monitoring the situation.
"We are also advising the motorists they must avoid using that Umgeni Road to and from Durban. We also heard they are complaining of their shacks being removed in the area," he said.
