Protest closes M19 near Reservoir Hills
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The new workweek has got off to a rocky start for those who rely on the M19 to get to school and the office.

Protest action that flared up on the Reservoir Hills on-ramp, heading west, on Monday morning affected the busy M19, leading to a complete road closure.
This is apparently due to around 30 protestors from a nearby informal settlement that blocked the route and torched debris.
“The cars were starting to slow down, coming almost to a standstill on the M19,” says Kevin Naidoo, who is with the Concerned Citizens Forum in Reservoir Hills.
“There are SAPS are scene but no Public Order Policing. We got our patrollers from the CPF on scene as well to assist but we are waiting for directive to clear the road. They are just burning debris, they're not stoning any cars."
The eThekwini Metro Police's Boysie Zungu's urged motorists to use other routes, preferably Rodger Sishi Road as an exit. Metro police and SAPS are on the scene.
