Protest action: M19 closed between Westville and Umgeni
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Durban's Metro Police have been dispatched to several protests, thought to be over service delivery issues, in and around the city this morning.
The M19 has been closed to traffic in both directions between Roger Sishi Road in Westville and Reservoir Hills and the new Umgeni Road interchange.
Metro says motorists will need to bypass the area by travelling through Westville via Spaghetti Junction and the N3.
Traffic on the N2 near the old airport, south of Durban has also been affected on both carriageways.
Motorists travelling from Amanzimtoti towards Durban are being advised to rather use the M4 freeway.
Meanwhile, Metro says officers are also monitoring unrest along Himalayas Road near Swinton Road in Mobeni.
