Durban Metro Police say a vehicle has been petrol bombed by protestors in Durban's Springfield Park this morning.

Protestors have been demonstrating on Bisasar Road since the early hours of this morning.
Durban Metro's Parboo Sewpersad says the driver managed to get out of the car before it was consumed by smoke and flames.
"A Jaguar was torched. A petrol bomb was thrown at the car. The vehicle was badly burnt. The fire department has since put the fire out," he said.
Officers say calm has since been restored to the area.
Sewpersad says they are about to begin re-opening the route to motorists.
He says the protest appears to have been carried out by angry residents living in a nearby informal settlement.
"It appears to be in retaliation after a shack demolition by the municipality," he said.
