Proof of payment key for those with SA Express tickets
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Keeping your receipts and proof of payment is key for passengers affected by the grounding of SA Express.

That is the view of Consumer Watch's Wendy Knowler. She has been commenting after the South African Civil Aviation Authority announced that it had suspended the airline's Air Operator's Certificate and Aircraft Maintenance Organisation approvals.
"Proof of purchase is going to be vital here. If you booked online you will have payment confirmation and that is easy enough to produce. In most cases you send an Email with that proof and the refund is processed on the basis of that," she said.
The SACAA said yesterday that it had uncovered serious non-compliance, adding that SA Express could not ensure that operational requirements and safety obligations are met at all times.

Knowler feels some passengers due to fly between smaller airports could battle to make alternate travel arrangements.
SA Express released a short statement on its website yesterday saying it confirms that its operations have been temporarily suspended.
