Probe into Verulam house fire

Emergency services say the fire was well ablaze when they arrived on the scene just before 8am today.

Firefighters have managed to extinguish the fire and there were no reports of injuries. 

Reaction Unit South Africa's Prem Balram says the occupants of the house had already left for work when the fire started. 

''We cannot confirm what exactly started the fire however, there is an investigation underway.

''When the fire initially started there was nobody at the residence. According to a neighbour, the foreign national that stays at the house had left for work,'' he said.
