Probe launched into light aircraft crash in Joburg

The South African Civil
Aviation Authority has launched an investigation into a light aircraft crash in
Nasrec, south of Johannesburg.

The plane went down near the FNB Stadium on Sunday morning – claiming the lives of two people.
The authority’s Sisa Majola says the aircraft departed from Grand Central Airport in Gauteng on a training flight with the intention to land back at the same airport.

"On board, the aircraft were two occupants who both sustained fatal injuries."
The aircraft itself was substantially damaged and the investigation team is on-site to gather further information as part of the investigation we want to let the public know that a preliminary report will be issued out 30 days after the day of the accident."
