Probe into stabbing death of south coast teacher
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Police in Hibberdene have opened murder and robbery investigations following the discovery of a south coast teacher's body.
Tholakele Shelembe was found lying in her home, with stab wounds, at Nyangwini location on Sunday.
Officers say two vehicles were stolen from the 53-year-old's property.
Two suspects taken in for questioning were released as there was no evidence to establish their connection to the crime.
Mhlabunzima Memela, who's with KwaZulu-Natal Social Development, has called for swift action from investigators.
He says they're growing concerned about crime in the area.
"Shelembe was a teacher at Makhoso Primary School. The MEC is very concerned that there are people who are terrorising women in the area of Umzumbe but these criminals are still waking freely on our streets."
