Probe after Soweto teen dies in train incident
Investigators are trying to determine how a teenager had fallen off a train in Soweto - Gauteng - suffering fatal injuries.
Paramedics found the boy at the bottom of an embankment next to a stream in the Naledi area - yesterday afternoon.
Netcare911's Shawn Herbst says the 13-year-old sustained a serious head injury.
"Rescue workers as well as SAPS had to set up a rope and basket system to retrieve his body. Sadly he was declared deceased on the scene. Prasa had to shut down the train tracks in both directions while rescuers worked."
