Probe after Khayelitsha shack fire claims eight lives

Eight people have been killed in an overnight shack fire in the Taiwan informal settlement in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.
According to Cape Town Fire and Rescue, five of the eight are children.
The deadly blaze erupted in the early hours of this morning, leaving 22 other residents displaced.
City Fire's Theo Layne says the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
"Four informal structures destroyed by a fire that has left 22 people displaced with eight people who sustained fatal burns. That includes two adult females, two adult males and [five minors]," Layne said.
The police's Frederick van Wyk says an arson case is being investigated.
