President's spokesperson 'relieved' after vindicated in PPE tender award
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Suspended presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko says she is relieved and feels vindicated following the findings by the ANC's National Disciplinary Committee.
The party's NDC found there had been no wrongdoing on the part of Diko and former Gauteng MEC of Health Dr. Bandile Masuku.
In April, the pair were asked to step aside from their ANC positions.
This after a report revealed that the company that was owned by Diko's late husband was awarded a R125-million tender to supply PPEs to the Gauteng Health Department.
A statement by Diko's attorneys says this process has shined the light on how society expects female politicians to be sanctioned for the business interests of their partners.
