President Zuma takes election campaign to Vryheid
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
Residents of Mondlo near Vryheid in northern KZN have been given the opportunity to share their grievances directly with the highest office in the country.
President Jacob Zuma has been conducting door-to-door visits in the area while campaigning for the ANC ahead of the local government elections.
Zuma arrived by helicopter at a local high school where supporters had been waiting for him.
He also interacted with pensioners and other grant beneficiaries at the Mondlo Community Hall.
Grade 12 pupil Ayanda Mtolo lives with his grandmother.
He says he has seen an improvement in infrastructure over the past five years.
''I would like them to open more job opportunities. They built a rank and now they are building the roads,'' he said.
