The meeting was requested by the University Council Chairpersons Forum of South Africa and Universities South Africa.
The Presidency's Acting spokesperson, Bongani Majola says government will also reveal future plans for Higher Education in the country.
He says Zuma will be accompanied by several government ministers, including the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande, at the meeting at the Union Buildings.
"They've requested to see the president and discuss several issues, including the recent violent acts and the destruction of property.
"The government will also have something to say about the whole intention in Higher Education - which includes transformation, funding, producing a certain level of skills to assist us in the economic growth of the country," he said.
