Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
President Jacob Zuma on Thursday addressed the National House of Traditional leaders in Pretoria and said the main reason that South Africans are poor is because land was taken from them.
Zuma, who has been in the news this week after a failed motion to impeach him in Parliamanent after the Constitutional Court's ruling on his Nkandla home, was cheered and booed as he left the venue in Sammy Marks Square on Thursday.
The President has also urged traditional leaders to solve land disputes with dialogue instead of turning to the courts saying that government is also doing its best to develop rural communities.
Zuma said that traditional authorities have a key role to play in nation building.
