Premier Mchunu says absenteeism is affecting service delivery
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Premier Senzo Mchunu says provincial government employees will have to be in a healthier state if KwaZulu-Natal is going to achieve maximum production.

Mchunu addressed the issue of absenteeism during his office's budget vote in Pietermaritzburg yesterday.
The Office of the Premier's been allocated R658.6 million for the next financial year.
The Sub-Programme of Strategic Human Resources will receive R89.5million.
The Premier says absenteeism has become a costly culture among provincial government employees, affecting service delivery.
Mchunu also touched on the issue of xenophobia in KZN.
"This Saturday 23 April we will start with process of dealing with the remainder of foreigners that went to live at Hope farm and demanded to be taken to Canada.
"We have said we don't know where Canada is as a province. Therefore our delegation from the province will meet the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Fatima Ismail Chohan and her delegation this particular weekend to take that matter to its logical conclusion," he said.
