Premier appeals to private sector to assist baboon attack victims
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Senzo Mchunu is appealing to the public sector to bring support to the two children who were attacked by a baboon on a farm in Richmond last month.
Six-year-old Seluleko Xaba and his 10-year-old cousin were playing at their home when they were attacked by a baboon.
The numbers of the baboons in that area have reportedly increased from 12 to around 25.

Spokesperson for the Premier, Ndabezinhle Sibiya, says that the children who were discharged last week are still traumatised.
"We are appealing to the private sector to come forward and assist these young ones to have access to recreational facilities. We are approaching the private sector to see if they can assist with the toys because it was a pretty traumatising experience," he said.
