Pre-school teacher accused of violently assaulting Phoenix toddler
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
An angry Durban father has opened a case with the police after his two-year-old son was assaulted, allegedly by his pre-school teacher.

Preshalin Pillay of Phoenix says his child came home with a swollen nose.
He says he had also noticed a change in his behaviour.
Pillay says he visited the school and demanded to see CCTV footage.
"We saw that baby had been kicked. So we proceeded to watch the video and we see that he's been assaulted over and over again.
"After he was kicked she pulled him by his shirt. She grabbed him by his hair. She banged his face on her knee. So there have been multiple incidents."
Pillay says the school was supposed to protect his child, but instead he is traumatised.
"That’s what's expected from them and then it gets thrown in our face. My son didn't want to go crèche. He cries, he can't speak.
"He is only two (years -old). He's just being violent and hitting, and I didn't realise that it's coming from school."
It's understood the teacher has been dismissed.
