Prasa to ensure easier travels in Durban
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
Increased demand, delays of passenger trains and overloading are among some of the issues tabled by the Transport Portfolio Committee to the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa officials in Durban.

The committee was in the city yesterday as part of an oversight visit to assess the public transport system.
Led by Mxolisi Kaunda, the group visited various train stations around the city to engage with commuters who make use of the train services on a daily basis.
Kaunda says their aim is to provide a reliable, safe, efficient and affordable transport system.
He says this is why they are looking to integrate transport modes with shopping malls to make the lives of commuters easier.
''What has also become important in this tour, is that as Prasa we link the railway lines with the development of malls in the province - which makes life easier for our commuters particularly to do their shopping.
''This will mean they can just ride a train in that station which is linked to a shopping mall. That would also create job opportunities,'' he said.
