Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
The Msunduzi Municipality says electricity will be restored by the end of today to areas of Pietermaritzburg who've been affected by power cuts since the long weekend.

The municipality suspects the power disruptions to areas including Slangspruit, Grange, eMbali and Basa are a result of sabotage by employees.
The power cuts haves led to protest action by residents who want their supply restored immediately.
Municipal spokesperson, Thobeka Mafumbatha says their technicians have been working around the clock to fix the problem.
"We've been working around the clock, from Friday until today, to ensure that electricity and water is being restored in the area. It's so unfortunate - these are technical issues which we cannot say at a certain time it's going to be sorted. At the end of today, electricity should be available," she said.
