Alleged Port Shepstone kidnapping: nanny to remain in custody
Updated | By Chantelle Lutchman
The nanny accused of abducting two children earlier this week appeared at the Port Shepstone Magistrates Court yesterday.
"The accused did appear at the Port Shepstone Magistrates Court and she was remanded to the 18th of April. She remains in custody and is charged with 2 counts of kidnapping," she said.
Three-year-old Muhammad Ali and his two year-old sister Shabbeena went missing on Monday afternoon. They were found on Thursday with their nanny in Louisiana just outside Port Shepstone.
Earlier Dessi Rechner of the Pink Ladies organisation, which helps find missing children, had said they are absolutely delighted.
"The two children were taken to have medical check-ups, which is the normal procedure and not to say that they have been harmed. But they are back safe," she said.
Rechner has praised on the Port Shepstone Police FCS Unit, saying they have always been efficient.
