Appal Naidoo, his wife, Kanna and his daughter, Shanda, were attacked by two pitbulls and a Dalmation at their Pelican Road home at the beginning of January.

Naidoo's wife and daughter suffered multiple bite wounds to their bodies.

The 82-year-old sustained serious injuries to his face and had to undergo reconstructive surgery at the Chief Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban.

The well-known Port Shepstone florist was recently moved to the Port Shepstone Provincial Hospital where he was recovering.

Naidoo's other daughter, Lalitha Sadasivan says doctors and nurses from both hospitals did everything for her father.

Sadasiven says the family is devastated.

The dogs were put down at a local SPCA two weeks after the incident.

Naidoo will be laid to rest on Sunday at Andra Hall in Port Shepstone at 10.30am. He will be cremated at 4.30pm at the Clare Estate Crematorium in Durban.
