Samples taken from the following beaches have poor water quality and are now closed to the public.

These are Brighton, Ansteys, Point, Ushaka, Addington, South, Wedge, North, Bay of Plenty, Battery, Country Club Thekwini, Laguna, Baggies and Reunion beaches. All water activities at these beaches are banned for health reasons.

As it stands, Umhlanga main; Umdloti; Westbrooke and Bronze beaches in the northern region remain closed.

You can still visit Toti, Pipeline, Warner, Winklespruit; and the Umgababa beaches.

The city says it will continue to conduct regular water quality tests from samples taken from the beaches that have been closed.
