Poor matric results ‘not the end of the road’ – expert

With just hours left till the rest of the class of 2021 will know the status of their matric results, distance educator Brainline is urging matriculants to take the necessary time to prepare themselves emotionally and mentally before the release.
Many
pupils could find themselves overly stressed about getting low marks, a
missed distinction or not getting enough points to qualify for the tertiary
studies of their choice.
Mentor Liezel Bruwer says the students and parents should take it easy, and remember that poor results are not the end of the road.
"The most important thing for students to know is that it's not the end of the world, no matter what happens with the results.

She says there are many options.
“They should be with people they trust, love and care about them and then they can share the results with them.
“Don't think if there is anything they did not expect they should immediately stress they can always opt for a remark or depending on who they wrote to either IEB or department of education they can then apply,” says Bruwer.
