Political Party Funding Bill will clamp down on corruption: IFP
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
The IFP has welcomed the signing of the 'Political Party Funding Bill' into law.
It's one of several political parties and groups that have voiced their approval for the bill, which will let people know WHO's directly funding parties and their election campaigns.
"There are donors that have an influence on tenders and other activities within government. This allocation of funding and transparency of disclosing will somehow prevent that kind of thing from happening," the IFP's Narend Singh said.
Sheilan Clark from 'My Vote Counts' says the bill's been long overdue.
"If we had this bill years ago, we would not have not seen the instances of corruption, bribery and fraud as we see today," Clark said.
