Political parties to sit at Moerane Commission

Some political parties are expected to testify at the Moerane Commission when it sits again in August.
Commission secretary, Solo Mdledle says most parties have responded to requests to appear before the commission:
"What [will] happen now, is that Evidence Leaders will interview them and agree on dates when they are supposed to give evidence," he said.

The commission's looking into the underlying causes of the political violence plaguing KZN. Mdledle says they've approached the authorities about a witness who is now apparently receiving threats.
"The commission has actually communicated to make sure that threat assessments are being done and some protection may be offered to them," he said.
The Moerane Commission says it hopes more witnesses come forward to testify, with the next sitting to resume on the 16th of August.
