Political parties confirm readiness ahead of municipal polls

Political parties across the province say it is all systems go for the 2016 Local Government Elections.

South Africans will cast their ballots at their local voting stations tomorrow. 


The ANC's Super Zuma says they're more than ready.


''Come August 3 definitely the ANC is going to win. We know we have been crossing the province, we have been speaking to the people, we have been doing door-to-door campaigns, we have been going street by street and town by town,'' he said.


The DA's eThekwini mayoral candidate Haniff Hoosen says the party has waited a long time for the polls.


" We've been out in the field over the 18 months and as we get closer and closer to the election date, more and more people are starting to get more and more excited about the elections. I believe these elections are going to be the most historical elections since 1994,'' he said.

The EFF says all their election day plans are in place.


"In terms of our campaign programme and everything, it went well. Our final rally in Polokwane, Limpopo had an attendance of 50 000. Everything went well, we are ready for elections. We are ready for to run municipalities in KZN,'' he said.
