The news comes in light of three officers being shot and injured in the field of duty, this week alone.
On Wednesday, another policeman was shot and injured at the Pelgrim train station on Fayers Place, in Isipingo.

when paramedics arrived on scene, they were escorted by police officials to the injured officer - who was lying in a dense bush.
"The member was shot in the leg. We then got him out of the bush safely, and then got him through to the helicopter - where we then transported him to hospital with the SAPS helicopter," she said.
