Police work to calm N2 protest near Tugela Bridge
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
Public Order Police are on the scene of violent protests on the N2 North and Southbound near the Tugela Bridge.

It's believed members of the Long Distance Taxi Association are protesting over the late issue of permits, resulting in taxis being impounded.
Paul Herbst who's with IPSS Medical Rescue says one lane is open on either side.
"The R102 Tugela bridge was also closed but has subsequently has been opened. There's a significant amount of backlog already. Metro is on scene, they have put the tyres out already trying to clean up the road," he said.
