Police warn of spate of kidnappings in Harding, Kokstad

Residents of Harding and Kokstad are being warned to be vigilant following a number of kidnappings and robberies.

A group of heavily armed men have allegedly been targeting hitchhikers and truck drivers in the area.
KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the modus operandi is to kidnap victims and take them to a secluded spot.
Ngcobo says they are then robbed of their belongings.

"A number of these incidents have been reported in Harding and Kokstad which are under the Harry Gwala District.
"Whilst police have undertaken various approaches to catch the perpetrators, they remain elusive and use different vehicles to evade detection.
"Anyone with information regarding the suspects is requested to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111."
