Police say PMB woman mauled by family dogs

KZN police say the woman mauled to death by three dogs in Pietermaritzburg yesterday afternoon was killed by her own family pets.

Medics were unable to immediately attend to the 32-year-old woman when they arrived at the Braithwaite Road residence, as the two rottweilers and a boerboel would not move away from her.

Police took the decision to put the animals down so that medics could treat her.
Midlands police spokesperson Mthokozisi Ngobese says a probe has been launched.
"We have opened an inquest docket. She was attacked by the dogs that are supposed to protect them as the family inside the yard," he said.
