A 33-year-old suspected hijacker
who’s been on the run for over a month is in court today facing attempted
murder charges, among others.

Police say the man and an alleged accomplice opened fire on officers after they were spotted with a stolen car in Wiggins in central Durban last month.
One of them was arrested. He was found with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The police’s Thembeka Mbele says the second suspect was caught yesterday, apparently while trying to steal another vehicle near Folweni.
“Yesterday at 11:45 am, police officers from the task team received information that the suspect was seen around the Nsimbini area. When proceeding to the area, the police officers received a report of a hijacked vehicle in the area,” Mbele said.
