Reports suggest the group have barricaded the road in the vicinity of the Dabeka Clinic with burning tyres.

Metro police say Zazi and Khululeka Roads have been affected. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.

This demonstration follows service delivery protests on the N2 in Chesterville at the weekend, which saw residents barricading the southbound section of the busy highway with various objects.

The police's Jay Naicker says the police kept a close eye on the situation.

"There was a service delivery protest at the Chesterville area. Members of the Cato Manor Police Station were monitoring the situation. We were told that the organisers were going to meet with the city officials to discuss the issue," he said.
