Police made a breakthrough yesterday - taking a 23-year-old man into custody at the Kennedy Road informal settlement.

Officers used a police dog to subdue and arrest the man - who they say tried to run away.

He was then taken to hospital. 22-year-old Joosab was robbed and stabbed 11 times while walking to work on the M13 bridge last month.

Family spokesperson, Mohammed Ismail says they are pleased there's been progress in the investigation.

"We also understand there was more than one person responsible for his murder and we would like all those other accomplices to be arrested and brought to book. The law should take its course and the necessary sentences should be meted out against these murderers," he says.
