Investigations are underway into the cause of a deadly crash on Father's Day in Durban's outer west region.

The head-on collision in Cliffdale claimed the lives of two men.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says a number of people were injured in the Station Road crash, including a four-year old boy.

“Unfortunately, both men had sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for them. They were declared deceased at the scene.
“A four-year-old seated in the rear of the vehicle had sustained critical injuries and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilize him on scene before rushing him to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he required.
“In the second vehicle approximately twelve occupants had sustained various injuries ranging from moderate to serious,” says Jamieson.
In a separate incident, a trucker lost his life when his vehicle went up in flames after a crash on the R617, near the town of Boston outside Howick.
A passenger was treated for serious injuries.
