Police investigate La Mercy Lagoon drowning

Police say they are investigating after a six-year-old boy drowned at the La Mercy Lagoon in Tongaat, north of Durban.
Paramedics were called out yesterday.
They found bystanders had already begun CPR on the child.
According to the National Sea Rescue Institute, the child was found floating in the water by bystanders.

Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says at this stage, it appears the boy got into difficulty and drowned.
"He was certified deceased by paramedics and the circumstances surrounding the incident is being investigated."
