Police identify woman found dead near North Beach

KZN police have confirmed that the woman found dead on a Durban North beach is not a British national but South African, Charmaine de Lange.

Her body was found in the bushes between Durban's Suncoast Casino and the Pirates Surf Life Saving Club on Saturday.
It's believed that De Lange left her home in Umbilo in Durban on New Year's Eve and was reported missing on the same day.
It was initially thought that she was a British national as she had been carrying a passport from that country.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says she was identified by her daughter earlier today.
"We can now certainly confirm that there was a body found near Suncoast Casino. She is not a British citizen but she is a South African citizen. We are still investigating after having opened an inquest docket, " he said.
