Police appeal for witnesses in missing Maritzburg teen's case

Police officers and community members are out searching and handing out flyers of a missing Pietermaritzburg teenager, Naledi Zondo.
Naledi Zondo who turns 13 this month disappeared late Monday afternoon.
She'd been at her Prestbury home before she went missing.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says Naledi was wearing blue faded jeans, a pink t-shirt and silver takkies.
"A missing person docket has been opened for investigation at the Prestbury police station. The missing person is still being sought by police. We are appealing to anyone who might have information on her whereabouts to contact the Prestbury Police 033 845 7759," Gwala said.
Naledi's mother, Nobuhle Zondo says their hopes were raised this morning only to be dashed.
"Someone said they saw a child that might be here. But when we got there - it was a false lead, it wasn't her. We are distributing her posters as well. The search and rescue team has is out [and part of the search]," she said.
