Police appeal after foetus found in Cato Manor

A foetus has been found in a sewage pipe in Cato Manor.

The discovery was made by residents while they were crossing a ravine on Dunbar Road this morning.
Officers from local security company - PT Alarms had been patrolling the area and were flagged down.
Police also arrived and recovery efforts got under way.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says a case of concealment of birth is being investigated.
"We appeal to anyone who might have information about the person or persons who allegedly left the foetus in a drain - to come forward and give us information," Zwane said.
