A 57-year-old man from Pietermaritzburg will be swimming his 42nd Midmar Mile this weekend.

Martin Godfrey plans finish the race within 28 and a half minutes.
He explains how he has prepared for the world's biggest open-water swim.
"I've been training six days a week. I've put in about 36km of training in the pool and I started off slowly doing 800m a day, pushed it up to 1000, then to 1200, 1600, and 1700," he said.
Despite the dam levels being below 47%, race director Wayne Reddin believes they'll host a successful event.
He says 13 500 swimmers are expected to participate.
"The aQuelle Midmar Mile this year will be one of the best ever with the course that is now set out which is the closest to a mile it can ever be," he said.
