PMB man in dock for taxi driver killing

A 55-year-old man will appear in court on Friday for the murder of a taxi driver in Pietermaritzburg.
Thandokwakhe Mchunu was gunned down at home.
His teenage niece was with him at the time.
The suspect was arrested on Thursday in Caluza.
KZN SAPS spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the man had been wanted by police since the incident in March.

"It is alleged that on 14 March 2022, Thandokwakhe Mchunu (31) and his 14-year-old niece were at their home in Imbali township when three unknown men came inside their yard and started firing shots towards them.
"They both sustained multiple gunshot wounds and the father was declared dead at the scene whilst his niece was rushed to hospital for medical attention.
"Charges of murder and attempted murder were opened at Plessislaer SAPS. The suspect will appear before the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court."
