PMB family shattered over dog attack
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The family of 32-year-old Mpho Mokoena who was mauled to death by her dogs on Monday says they're still trying to piece together what happened as no one was at home at the time of her death.

Speaking from their Pietermaritzburg home yesterday, her sister Mmabatho says reports that the dogs that they took in as puppies had been aggressive and troublesome are absurd.
She says her neighbour gave the family this version of incident.
"The neighbour said the first dog pushed her, playfully so or it seemed playful and she then shouted at the dog and told the dog to stop. The dog then came through from the back and pushed her again as though trying to make her fall.
"At times she then got angry and she picked up a stick - which we do normally use because the dogs are quite big. Out of doing that I don't know if maybe the dogs felt threatened," she said.
Mpho who was a special-needs individual died after the two rottweilers and a boerboel turned on her.
Mmabatho says the loss of her sister and the dogs has shattered the family which she says is financially unprepared for Mpho's funeral on Saturday.
