Plea for more digital programmes to tackle youth unemployment

Business leaders are calling for more digital skills programmes to address the 45.5 per cent youth unemployment rate.
Speaking at the Trialogue Business in Society Conference, Telkom executive Judy Vilakazi said there's a need for businesses to collaborate to upskill youth for the evolving job market.

Meanwhile, Nazeem Hendricks from The Jobs Fund and Cynthia Motau from TsAfrika Foundation highlighted the importance of mass employment programmes and extended leadership.
Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator and the SA Youth Network were also praised for linking youth to job opportunities and bridging the skills gap.
