Plea to help finance Covid-19 vaccine rollout

South Africa is seeking help to finance it's Covid-19 vaccine rollout from the private sector and the country's main health insurers.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize hosted a public webinar on Sunday night, detailing government's plans.

Last week, the government paid a deposit of R283 million to enter Covax, the mechanism for the equitable distribution of vaccines established by the UN World Health Organisation.
"We have embarked on an additional public/private partnership - which is already at this point, giving us very good outcomes. We have already approached medical aids to co-finance with government."
