Plan to revive ANC needs to be discussed: Jacob Zuma
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Jacob Zuma says the ANC is not prioritising political discussions and engagements on the party's future.
He says members of the organisation should be worried about this.
The former president was delivering the Oliver Tambo memorial lecture at the Isidingo Combined Primary School in Umlazi yesterday.
He says at many of the conferences held in parts of the country recently, the subject of where the party is going and the implementation of its policies, were not brought up for discussion.
Zuma says the ANC leadership needs to have a clear plan about how it is going to revive the organisation to reclaim majority support.

He says some members go to conferences to get positions instead of focusing on moving the ANC into a better position.
He has called the exercise pointless.
"What seemed to dominate the conferences has been quarrels about the credentials until the time to vote for new leaders without providing enough time for political discussions to take the ANC forward. In implementing its radical policies, we seem to be turning the ANC into an article of commerce. This cannot be accepted."
