Plan in place for uninterrupted water supply in eThekwini: Mashatile
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Deputy President Paul Mashatile says he is satisfied with the reports he has received so far from the water task team.
The government set up the group to tackle supply challenges in the country.
The task team is expected to tour all provinces to ascertain the degree of supply constraints.
Mashatile, the group's chair, started his visits in eThekwini on Friday, where several communities haven't seen a drop in their taps for months.
"We want to assure the people of eThekwini that they shouldn't have sleepless nights that they will run out of water. The plan is there, and we are going to make sure that there will be an uninterrupted supply of water in the city."

Mashatile was shown around the city's water treatment facilities and reservoirs.
"The plan is being implemented, and the mayor has assured me that the challenges they have at the moment amount to only about 10% that they must fix, but 90% we are assured that people will continue to receive water."
