Pistorius family battles to take Oscar movie to court
Updated | By Kaya FM News
Oscar Pistorius' brother says they have been struggling to move ahead with legal action against the makers of a new movie about paralympian's life and Reeva Steenkamp's murder.
Carl Pistorius has been speaking about the family's concerns about the movie.
"We are not able to interdict the film not because of financial constraints but purely because of the laws within the US and Oscar being a public figure."
According to media reports, both the Pistorius and Steenkamp families were not consulted during the film's production.
"There are trademark issues that come to mind, image rights etc. It's upon this basis that we will assess the case going forward," he says.
The movie, titled "Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer", was made by American entertainment channel - Lifetime.
It's due to premiere in the US next month.
