Pinetown man taken into custody for murder of girlfriend

A 45-year-old man has been taken into custody after his girlfriend was found murdered in Pinetown.

It's understood the 40-year-old woman and the suspect were seen together several hours earlier.
KZN police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says a friend found her body at her Blose Avenue home in Nazareth the following day.
"The friend had earlier received a call from the deceased's manager when she did not report for duty on the morning of 20 March 2022. The victim was found dead with a bullet wound to the forehead. A case of murder was opened at the Pinetown police station for further investigation."

"The police investigation revealed that the deceased was last seen with her boyfriend at her residence at 01:30 (am).
"The suspect received information that the police were looking for him and decided to hand himself over. He was placed under arrest and was charged with murder. He will appear before the Pinetown Magistrate's Court tomorrow (Wednesday)."
