Pinetown grants bail to suspected copper cable thieves

Two suspected copper cable thieves nabbed at a scrapyard in Queensmead this week have been granted bail.

Police found the men in possession of cables belonging to Eskom and passenger rail agency PRASA, valued at almost R3 million.

A spokesperson for prosecutors in KZN, Natasha Kara, says the duo appeared in Pinetown Magistrate's Court.
"The two accused were granted bail of R25 000 each, and the matter was remanded for the 27th of March for further investigation.”
